For three decades Graham Ibbeson has produced sculptures of outstanding depth, quality and comedy. He has worked as a professional sculptor since 1978, exhibiting extensively throughout Europe and the USA, in both group shows and one-person exhibitions.
He has created bronze sculptures in towns and cities across Britain including Leeds, Cardiff, Dover, Barnsley, Doncaster, Northampton, Chesterfield, Middlesbrough, Perth, Otley and Rugby. His work has been displayed in such well-known and diverse locations as The British Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum and Tokyo Toy Musem.
One of Graham Ibbeson's most famous pieces is the statue of legendary comedian Eric Morecambe, which stands in the performer's seaside hometown of Morecambe, Lancashire. The statue was unveiled by the Queen.
Graham has received commissions from a wide variety of people, all around the country and also abroad. Aside from Eric Morecambe, he has created statues of renowned people including Laurel and Hardy, Timothy Hackworth and Thomas Chippendale, as well as statues representing broader concepts such as the Scales of Justice in Middlesbrough and the Leeds Millennium Sculpture.
